IPS e.max & All Ceramic Restorations

IPS e.max Crowns

IPS e.max restorations are produced from pressed lithium disilicate glass-ceramic, a translucent and durable material which produces exceptional aesthetic results.

IPS e.max restoration provides long lasting durability. With a strength of 400 MPa it’s no surprise that it’s one of our most popular crowns and a preferred system to work with.

This solution is ideal for a broad spectrum of cases, from single units up to a maximum of a 3-unit bridge and is great for both anterior and posterior work. To increase strength in the molar region a full contour monolithic stain and glaze restoration is a great option.

IPS e.max is available in 5 levels of translucency and it can replicate very natural results as it eliminates the metal core substructure that can sometimes become noticeable within porcelain bonded crowns. In addition, it is much lighter and thinner than traditional porcelain bonded restorations resulting in a minimally invasive and highly accurate restorations. It is a good option where space between teeth is limited.

Zirconia

Zirconia crowns and bridges are another all-ceramic, metal free restoration option. This material is produced from zirconium dioxide which is a crystalline oxide metallic Zirconium. It is incredibly strong with a flexural strength of up to 1200MPa. Zirconia restorations can tolerate heavy wear and are an ideal option if there is not enough occlusal space or the patient is a bruxist. Like IPS E.max, Zirconia offers a good level of translucency and produces a very natural looking result.

Composite

Composite restorations are made from a translucent resin that is carefully colour matched, sculpted, and hardened by UV light. It is an ideal material for inlays, onlays and temporary restorations. It produces a very attractive, natural looking result. Composite restorations offer a good level of strength and durability, and they are great for patients who are sensitive to metal or porcelain. They are also minimally invasive, cost effective and a good option to prolong the functionality of a tooth.
